Thanks very much! I consider this a transition piece. I did this one when I was just beginning to understand 3-point lighting and starting to develop my own lighting technique. I had also just purchased my first digital art tablet, and was experimenting and learning digital painting. I painted the strings that Leena is holding in her fingers, and the shadows of the strings. I was very proud of myself at the time, lol.

Most of the renders I did around this time have this brownish-red tint to them. I was using colored directional lights to bring out certain skin tones before I understood ambient lighting, sub-surface scattering, and specular light.

why..is the title in german?? ....aaand i have a question..i have absolutely no experience with this work..so..how are the people made? i mean..with pc..but they look (proportions and poses) so real...are photos used...or just free hand drawn and then ...edited??

The title is in German because I spent many years in Germany and it is a second language for me. The people are made, posed, and rendered in a 3d rendering program called Daz Studio. The image is then opened in photoshop where it is edited and some parts are freehand drawn and painted.

O_O This is ... yeah. *Nosebleed!* That's one of my favorite poses on a woman too... Turning her head over her shoulder like that... rawr! I love these characters so much... I can tell you put a LOT into them to flesh them out. Gorgeous!

I like your artwork here. Leena has that tough, protective, and challenging look that I feel more elves and half-elves should have, and Vania has that nice little deceptively innocent look about her face that could looks like it could cause anyone daring to mess with either of them a world of trouble. Your textures are very nice and smooth, which, let's face it, isn't on every piece of artwork in here, and I feel that your lighting on these full pieces work wonders and sets the perfect mood. Good job all the way around and these look like some great characters. Keep it up, man, this is good stuff. :)

Thanks, man. The first part is to find a good hair prop. Second is to use raytracing for the lights. Third is postwork; I paint over the hair with a pen and tablet. I also use D-formers on the hair to get it to move the way I want it to - sometimes the built-in morphs don't do enough. As far as the dress, it's a matter of finding a good clothing prop and using good lighting and more postwork; I painted the strings and their shadows in photoshop with a tablet.
